I wanted to go listen to some live country music last weekend…and of course I couldn’t go to the Cheyenne Saloon because it’s shut down! Why?? Hmm, let’s see…maybe because everytime I went in there, the band played everything BUT country music…so I would turn around and walk out. Sorry, but PARTY bands don’t go over well with Line Dancers and Jack Daniels!
So instead, I headed to The Barn in Sanford (only 30 minutes from Orlando). Line dancers were jumping onto the hardwood floor every second they got, which was many! Plus they have a Karaoke bar in a back room…very cool, but also very smokey.
After a inhauling 30 packs of Marlboro Reds and exhauling $20 bucks for 2 Bud American Ale’s….woof! Althought I was having a good time and the band was really good…it was time to move on!
I landed at the Post Time Lounge in Longwood. At first I didn’t know what to think…but when I walked in…I felt like someone wrote down my history, wrapped it up and shoved it inside this place! This was a Honky Tonk filled with REAL down home people. This was a spitten image to my all time favorite place “Broken Spoke Saloon” in Nashville, TN. The Lucky Dogg band was alot of fun and kept the crowd on the dance floor. I think you’ll find me there a few more times!
